M0ns Klint, Denmark The large chalk cliffs of eastern M0n, southeastern Denmark are justifiably famous for their scenic beauty and distinctive geological structure. The cliffs are perhaps the frnest example of glaciotectonic features in the world, and they have a long history of geological study beginning with Agricola (1546). The earliest known illustration appeared in the 1700s (fig. 1-2). Johnstrup (1874) first recognized the glaciotectonic genesis of M0ns Klint, and the first map showing ice-shoved ridges on M0n was published by Haarsted (1956).
