In order to be an active reader, your child will need to question what he reads and make predictions about the events before he finishes the material. He needs to think about what he is reading and see if it makes sense. When children question and anticipate as they read, they strengthen their comprehension skills. HOW TO PLAY: The object of the game is for players to predict what will happen next. Each player, in turn, poses a question relevant to the environment. For example, in a car, he might ask how many blue cars will pass before a yellow one does.

SKILLS DEVELOPED: Your child will need to be able to use a dictionary throughout her years in school.
